The PRD Network Project was launched in 2001. It was enlarged pursuant to an Agreement of Cooperation Framework for the PRD Network Project signed among CCT, SCT, various Pearl River ports, barge operators etc. on 3 November 2005.The Agreement is aimed at "perfect services and mutual benefits" among the signors and realizing the benefit of scale in the Pearl River so that all participants will jointly strengthen the regional cooperation and extend the container yard service of western Shenzhen ports to the west bank of the Pearl River. Through the effective integration of PRD ports, barge operators, trucks and EDI platform, the PRD Network project can take full advantage of the well-established South China Shuttle Service network and thus offer a more efficient and cost-effective logistics service to liners and local cargo owners. Accompanying the rapid development of infrastructure, enhanced internal coordination and improving efficiency in cargo movement, the container yard service of western Shenzhen ports has been successfully extended to west bank of the Pearl River and the PRD Network Project is running on a fast track.Source: Press Release
