SENATOR LINES wins CIFFA award for fifth time

Thus this German shipping line, established in Canada with its own sales organisation, has won this award, given by the eastern region of the CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association), for the fifth time in succession for its Mediterranean-Canada Services (MCS).  Every year the three CIFFA regions award a prize for service quality, transit times and reliability to the best shipping and air-freight companies on the most important trade routes. The nominations are based on a survey of the association’s members and verification by an independent commission.  In his speech of thanks David Batty emphasised that the work of a whole team underlay this success. “All the members of our team, whether their job is import and export documentation, customer service, sales or operating business, have made this excellent performance possible.” “The fact that we have realised this achievement for the fifth time in succession on a difficult shipping route”, Batty continued, “shows we can offer our customers a constantly high level of service quality.”  It was in the early 90s that SENATOR LINES expanded its network to include its Mediterranean-Canada service, which has subsequently been so successful; running on two routes with a weekly schedule, it carries goods mainly from the western Mediterranean and to the USA Mid-West.  The MCS operates via Gioia Tauro to link its prize-winning connection with the German carrier’s services, using ports of call in the eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black and Red Seas, the Near East, and destinations in Asia.  The CIFFA organisation was founded in Montreal as early as 1948, to establish a professional level in the industry, with uniform quality standards. Today the association is divided into three regions – West, East and Central Canada. The prize-winners of the Forwarders Choice Award for Central Canada will be presented at a major ceremony on 17 May. There too SENATOR LINES is up among the best of them, having received two awards so far, in 2004 and 2005. Source: Press Release
